1. Customer searches for accountable spare parts sellers
Search for spare parts sellers on mymotofix.com. Contact parts sellers directly and negotiate the price of the item and the delivery place and terms.
2. Customer escrows agreed amount on mymotofix.com
Pay the amount agreed with seller on our website and NOT to the seller. The seller will receive notification of your payment so he can arrange delivery. Pay delivery/shipping cost directly to seller – this amount is NOT held in escrow and is non-refundable.
3. Buy additional warranty (optional)
Customer can purchase additional warranty of up to 90 days from MyMotoFix. Additional warranty can be purchased at the time of placing the order on mymotofix.com. For customers that purchase additional warranty, this means that if there are issues with the item purchased after the 21 day escrow period we will replace the item at our own cost or refund the purchase amount (excluding shipping costs). The warranty period starts counting from the initial purchase date.
4. MyMotoFix releases payment to seller after 21 days
If there are no complaints with the item purchased within 21 days, we will release payment to the seller. If the item fails within 21 days, we will return 100% of your money (excluding shipping). Beyond the 21 days, the seller has no further responsibility in the event of issues reported with the item.
How to hire a mechanic
Wherever you are...close to home, office or on the expressway, we find pre-screened mechanics for you. We let you pay for expensive repairs in installments so you are not stuck with low quality parts.
1. Find a mechanic that meets your needs
Compare prices, location, and customer rating to find the mechanic that best meets your requirements.
We provide you with their phone numbers so you can call them, have them inspect your vehicle if necessary, negotiate and then agree on the repair fee.
2. Hire them on our platform; deposit repair fee into escrow
After you complete negotiations, return to our platform to hire the mechanic and deposit the agreed repair fee into escrow. It is important you hire them on our platform so you can benefit from our escrow and arbitration services.
Be careful when a mechanic doesn’t want you to hire him through our platform. If you do this, we wont't be able to hold them accountable.
3. Order replacement spare parts from us, pay in installments
If you need to buy spare parts, ask the mechanic to call us and provide us with your phone number. We will email you the invoice for the parts so you pay us directly. In most cases, the brand new parts we source come with up to 3 months' warranty.
In certain cases, we allow you pay for your purchase in monthly installments (additional fee applies).
4. Approve repairs
You will receive a notification once the job is completed asking you to approve the job. If you do not respond one way or the other, the funds held in escrow will be automatically released to the mechanic after 2 days. If there is a dispute with the repair and the mechanic fails to address it satisfactorily, you can request (or the mechanic) can request for the matter to be put into arbitration i.e. we will act as the independent arbitrator to settle the issue. All decisions taken by us are final.
